Outdoors, the advantage of powdered chalk (or crunch) in a chalk bag is that you can chalk up whenever you need on your route. The issue is that the chalk leaves marks on the rocks. This is why it’s recommended that you brush off holds after completing your route to leave as few traces as possible in these fragile environments. We recommend brushing them off with a climbing brush, specially designed for this purpose.
